The Bald Knob Police Department, in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration’s Regulatory Enforcement Division, is working to raise awareness about a growing concern involving intoxicating hemp-derived products being sold in gas stations and retail stores across the state.
State regulatory agents have seized a significant number of these illegal products and made numerous arrests related to their sale and distribution. These items are often packaged in ways that may appeal to young people or appear similar to everyday snacks and candies, creating a serious risk for accidental consumption, especially among children and teens during the Halloween season.
To help protect our community and the surrounding areas, the Department of Finance and Administration has developed two educational flyers designed for parents, teachers, and community members. These materials help residents recognize intoxicating hemp-derived products and understand the dangers associated with them.
The Bald Knob Police Department encourages all residents to review these flyers and share them widely.
As we approach Halloween and the busy holiday months, the Bald Knob Police Department reminds everyone to remain alert, talk with children about safety, and check all treats carefully before consumption.
